ENGINEERING FOR KIDS AT DILLARD ACADEMY
We put the EXCITEMENT in S.T.E.M. education by offering engaging, age appropriate, inquiry based, hands-on-learning for children ages 4 to 14 through FUN activities from designing and constructing rockets, hot air balloons, and roller coasters to programming and coding LEGO® Robots and video games. We invite you to find out why our young engineers take our classes every year!
For this session we will introduce Mechanical Engineering for our younger group and Robotic - Mission to Mars for the older ones. They are divided in Part 1 and 2, 4 weeks each one. Although they are complementary, they are independent.
Junior Mechanical Program - Grades: K- 2nd.
The Junior Mechanical Engineering classes introduce our youngest engineers to fundamental concepts of energy, materials, and movement. Through open and focused exploration, students explore and construct their own roller coasters, catapults, cars, and more.
Robotics - Mission to Mars: Grades: 3rd - 5th
During the LEGO® Robotics Mission to Mars program, students design and program robots to explore an unknown planet, find safe shelter, and collect soil samples from the planet. Students use LEGO® Robotics and computers to learn principles of robotics, computer programming, and teamwork.
